Planting for every season, not just peak summer

A garden that only performs in June is ornamental, not lived-in. We plan planting as a calendar: evergreen structure first, then successive layers that arrive and recede without leaving gaps.

Bulbs thread through early perennials; grasses hold autumn light; seed heads stay for winter birds. The result feels continuous rather than staged.

On each site we map sun, wind, and soil before choosing plants — so resilience is designed in, not hoped for.
