Calm, resilient landscapes — not ornamental gardening

A short note on designing for circulation, gathering, and the rhythm of daily life outdoors.

Calm, resilient landscapes — not ornamental gardening

Ornament asks to be looked at. A resilient landscape asks to be used — walked through, sat in, harvested from, and returned to after work.

Circulation and gathering are our first decisions. Paths should feel inevitable; seating should catch evening light; planting should soften without blocking movement.

That philosophy keeps gardens looking considered years later, when trends have moved on.
